In a time where being eager is misconstrued as being “cringe”, I find myself extremely grateful to wake up every single day excited about creating. As an artist, I’ve made it my mission to convey that caring is cool. My passion for storytelling stems from community, love, and knowledge. The greatest inspiration in my life is the classroom and the people that occupy it. I come from a long line of educators- the pursuit of knowledge thrills me. How am I evolving from this process? What am I learning? And most importantly, what can I give? Through my acting, I am comforted by the fact that I get to learn for the rest of my life. The key to comprehension is collaboration. I care deeply for those around me, and I dream of a world where everyone feels emboldened to not know, but encouraged to find out. Everyday is a new opportunity for growth, meaning that every day is different. Some days you’re the teacher, and some days you’re the student. Being an actor is about being able to navigate multiple roles. I am reliable. I am ambitious. I am malleable. I believe doing it scared is better than not doing it at all. Failing forward is one of theatre’s, and life’s, greatest promises. I put in the work everyday, because I believe the craft demands it. It requires a level of respect and discipline, but it also deserves a sense of play and spontaneity. I’m not interested in apathy, or the notion of “chilling out”. Overall, my mission is to never lose my curiosity of the world, or for the people in it. The art I am interested in making reflects my commitment to living in the moment, loving one another, and growing together.
